The walk of the Roses... The idea of this walk all started because my dad did 'a peak too far' (3 peaks plus walking to Pendle Hill and climbing that) when he was younger, and he always talked about it. So me and my god father Richard Mann used to joke saying we would do one better and make it a circuit...My dad then got it into his head he wanted Tosside to be 'put on the map' by this walk and insisted we had to start and end in Tosside because in Tosside you can have one foot in Yorkshire and one foot in Lancashire at the same time (hence the walk of the roses)... Thus the joke became a reality. My dads idea was that it would set a challenge for experienced walkers or people a little bit mad like me. So we started in Tosside on the 22 June 18 at 11.59pm and walked to pen-y-ghent...onward to Whernside and where most people finish... Ingleborough. After this we walked through Bowland knotts, past stocks reservoir and over to Sawley. I then walked to Pendle hill through the fields and got to the last trig point on the 23 June 2018 at 11.55pm. I then walked down the same way and back to where I started. I got back to Tosside on the 24 June 2018 at around 5am. 76 miles in 29 hours of solid walking. #walking #hiking #3peaks #walkingchallenge #Tosside #PuttingTossideonthemap #Thewalkoftheroses #apeaktoofar...circuit
